When Sybil and her mother move to a dilapidated house on the Upper West Side, the little girl discovers that her neighbour has a very interesting secret. It just so happens that Sybil's neighbour is the last dinosaur, named Bolivar. This grumpy curmudgeon lives a simple, reclusive life with his cat and makes a living as an artist for The New Yorker magazine. And so Sybil sets out to befriend the lumbering giant, trying to persuade him to step out into the modern world and take a chance that the city won't look on him as a monster.
